Descrizione

On 02 April 2014, Francesco Militello Mirto has realized this photo during a training mission with the Helicopters Squadron of the Guardia di Finanza.

The MCH-109A helicopter, more commonly known as A-109N is a high-speed multi-role helicopter, equipped with two free turbine engines Pratt & Whitney Canada PW207C, each capable of delivering 671 Kw (900 SHP) of continuous power, a main fully articulated four-blade rotor, a two-blade tail rotor and a retractable forward tricycle landing gear. It can accommodate up to six people, and is intended to undertake multiple roles such as surveillance, search and rescue, emergency medical service and patrolling. The helicopter has good performances and it’s capable of reaching a maximum IAS (Indicated Air Speed) of 168 kts, a maximum service ceiling of 16,000 Ft and about 3 hours of endurance with the additional tanks. Nexus helicopters are now all configured in “fully operative” version for the institutional tasks assigned to the Guardia di Finanza’s territorial flight departments (Sezioni Aeree).
